Siemens and Enterasys aim to go toe-to-toe with Cisco in wired and wireless networking through a new joint venture.
The joint venture, established in October 2008, brings together Siemens Enterprise Communications, Enterasys, and SER Solutions. US private equity group Gores and Siemens plan to pump €350m ($478m) into the business. Gores has acquired a 51 percent stake in Siemens Enterprise Communications while Siemens gets a 49 percent interest in the joint venture.
